5 Month happy Vivian

Thanksgiving weekend was packed full of fun! We really missed Mimsie though since she had to stay home sick. She had given Vivian a stuffed bunny that talked to her with Mimsie's recorded voice. This is what she looks like when she hears it:

We went to Mary Dowcett's house for Turkey dinner and Vivian was happy with Granny and we were glad to see Liam.

Lindsey made apple and pumpkin pie as well as a delicious butternut squash casserole. Everything was really good.

Davis made some really good oysters Rockefeller for an appetizer. Some of the best oysters I have ever had. Mary made the turkey and it was really good and juicy.

After dinner we all went for a walk. Vivian got to wear her new winter coat and I think she liked it. She didn't get cold, that's for sure.

We didn't go shopping on Black Friday, instead Lindsey baked a cake for Liam's birthday party all day. She made it really fun and tasty.

It was 6 layers, all the colors of the rainbow, a great birthday cake for Liam's 1st birthday. He wasn't sure about eating it, but I think he had fun playing with it.

After playing with his cake, he likes to sit back and relax.

Vivian had a lot of fun at Liam's party. She had fun with Uncle Davis.

After all the craziness was over, Liam and Vivian got to hang out together before we left on Sunday. I think Christmas time will be a lot of fun when Vivian can sit up and play with the other little cousins.

Today Vivian is 5 months old. It is hard to believe that it has been that long already. She is a happy little girl and is doing great almost sitting up now. I think she will have it down in a week or two. We had fun taking pictures this morning. She seems to know to smile for the camera now. So I got some good ones.

Rolling Over!

Vivian has grown so fast since the last post. She can sit forward in the carrier and likes to look at the trees. We went on a nice walk when the leaves had changed and the weather was nice!

She is ready to see the Bulls this summer. My hat is a little big for her.

Chewing is her new favorite thing. She likes to put everything in her mouth and wants to chew on all the rubber chew toys. It squeeks against her gums. Not sure if she is teething, or just likes the chew with her gums.

She smiles a lot and likes to watch us brush out teeth.

Dooley had a birthday on Nov. 11. He is 3 years old now. I gave him a hair cut last weekend and it almost broke my back. I think the $50-$75 is worth it for his hair cut. So I won't be doing that again.

We went to Mimsie's this weekend. Originally to see Holly's new baby, but we have all been a little sick this week so we decided not to get a 2 week old baby sick and see her later on. Mimsie got Vivian a lot of neat Christmas outfits that she peed and drooled on. She got to try them all on.

Vivian is ready for Turkey day. She won't get to eat anything, but will get to see everyone. Next year will be her first Turkey day when she gets to eat.

Although Vivian rolled over when she was less than 2 months old, when she got a little more chunky she had to learn again. Now she is officially able to roll from her stomach to her back. She did it first over a week ago, but it took her a while to get consistent and I finally got it on video.

She likes to play a lot with toys now and shakes them all around. She is getting good with her hands!

4 Months

We went to Wilmington last weekend to run a half marathon. Vivian got to see Granny and Mimsie both. We had a good time, and she was happy to see them.

Liam was happy to see Vivian again too.

He wanted to eat her hand, it was really funny.

Vivian thinks Liam is really cool.

We ate lunch after the race and Liam was having fun eating his bottle or anything else he could find. Vivian had a good time seeing uncle Davis, aunt Lissa, and cousin Brian (didn't get a photo).

Vivian is putting things in her mouth a lot now as well. She really likes to chew on Sophie the giraffe  As far as we can tell she isn't teething, just gnawing.

The half marathon was pretty good. The weather was great, but windy. The logistics of the race weren't good. There was too much traffic on the course as well as at the finish line. We won't be doing this one again. Lindsey ran her first big race since Vivian was born. It took her less than 4 months to run a half marathon and get back to pre-Vivian weight! She did great!

I didn't have a baby and am also at pre-Vivian weight. I did run faster though, my fastest yet. It isn't as impressive as what Lindsey did though.

The Battleship was a good venue for the race, but they need to work on the parking and traffic. I got 3rd in my age group and 7th overall.

Lindsey and Vivian are the real winners though. Lindsey is looking great!

Vivian is 4 months old, getting to be a big girl!
