Halloween!

The first couple of days that Lindsey went back to work were tough on all of us except Vivian I think. I stayed home the first day to give her a little transition day and it we had a good time. We ran, and played together. It was a good Daddy-daughter day.

Vivian likes her day care place I think and it makes it easier that it is at Lindsey's work until
January. It is hard to leave her everyday though.

So the weekends we have to pack more in. This past weekend we went to an Oktoberfest in Durham and Vivian dressed in her pumpkin outfit. The weather was nice and beers were pretty tasty. The food was a little disappointing since they ran out of everything before we got to order.

Vivian got her first Halloween card from Mimsie.

She was interested in the flower I gave to her and so was Dooley. He wanted to play tug-o-war with it and she did too.

We carved our first pumpkin with Vivian last night getting ready for all of the trick or treaters that we will have. It was a little buggy so we had to make the carving really quick. So the Jack-o-lantern isn't the best, but it looks cool with the candle in it.

3 month old Vivian

Vivian turned 3 months old on Oct. 4 and she is getting so big, strong, and smart. She holds her head up so good now and still is smiley as ever. She got excited that the Braves were finally in the playoffs again, but they didn't last long.

She wasn't too concerned that they were out of the playoffs because she had some Halloween outfits to wear and be happy about. She loves to put her hand in her mouth and drools all over her shirt. So bibs are usually helpful and she was happy about her Halloween bib.

We went to VA a couple weeks ago to celebrate our friend Sara's daughter Wrenn's 3rd birthday. They are going to be friends when Vivian can get up and play. For this party Vivian took all the craziness in and watched. It was a crazy kid party for sure.

She got to wear a new dress for the party.

Sammy and Dooley had a good time playing in Mimsie's yard. Some frisbee throwing and tug-o-war is always their favorite.

Vivian's eyes are still blue and seems like they could stay that way. Her Mimsie's eyes are blue as well as her great grandmother Vivian's.

She is getting good using her hands (besides sticking them in her mouth). She can hold a rattle and likes her crunchy sounding purse and books to play with.

She looks so serious when she sees the camera. She is wondering why we always hold up that thing in front of her face.

She is ready for Halloween...

Lindsey ran a 5 mile race this past weekend and Vivian and I were there to cheer her on. It was a big race and there were a lot of food trucks and a beer garden for after they finished. Vivian had to get bundled up with her sweater and hat with the cooler weather.

She can use the boppy to sit up and play with her toys now. She doesn't like to lie down as much. She wants to be more upright so she can look all around and see everything that is going on.

We like to hang out on the couch and relax.

Lindsey goes back to work this week and it is going to be tough. I am going to miss them always being home together and I know it is going to be really hard on her to go back. Vivian will get to meet new kids at the daycare at Lindsey's work for the first month or so. She will learn a lot of new things I am sure.

First Trip to Mimsie's House and Other Fun Stuff

We all took a trip to VA to Mimsie's house a few weeks ago. My mom (Mimsie) was really excited to see her! Vivian and I left on a Thursday and Andrew came with the doggies on Friday. I was really nervous about traveling 3+ hours in the car without Andrew, but she did great! She slept the entire trip. While we were there, I hosted a baby shower for my best friend Holly. She is having a little girl in November.

Vivian got to play with my other best friend Sara's kids while we were setting up for the party. It's really neat that we all have kids around the same age. Here's a picture of Vivian and Charley "playing" together.

Last weekend we traveled to Granny's house in Wilmington. We got to see Davis, Lissa, and Liam, which is always fun!

Andrew and I ran a race on Sunday while we were there. Andrew ran the 15K and did really well. He got 2nd overall. He took Vivian up to get his trophy. I ran the 5k and did well for my first post-baby race (I won overall in the 5K!). It was really fun :)

Vivian also had her first beach trip. We took her down before sunset so it wasn't too bright. It was a little windy and chilly, but she seemed to like it. I think she will be really ready for the beach next year!

Vivian and Dooley were both worn out from our busy weekend!

Vivian is really developing a fun personality. She loves to smile and talks to us. She's also drooling a lot more. Mimsie bought her a funny bib.
