Happy Baby

Vivian has started to smile at us consistently and it is really fun when she does. She is most happy in the mornings and gives me a big smile before I go to work if I am lucky. Lindsey thinks she gave her a giggle yesterday as well! She smiles big!

She has also grown out of almost all her newborn clothes. That makes since as she is over 9 lbs now! She has some really cool outfits to wear as she gets bigger thanks to all of the generous presents. Her is a newer outfit that her Granny got her.

Vivian has been enjoying her baby toys like her rocking chair that she has recently begun to hang out or sleep in. 

She also really enjoys playing on her play mat and hitting all the rattles and toys that hang from above like the elephant rattle. She is getting good at her hand-eye coordination and gets happy when the music plays!

We had a big weekend last weekend. Vivian got to meet a bunch of my friends at a birthday party out in Pittsboro. My phone died unfortunately, so I didn't get any good photos. The next day our friends Hiten and Rahkee came for a visit so I got a couple of them. It is funny to see my friends hold her, good practice for them for the future when they have some babies.

 

6 Week Smiles

Vivian is 6 weeks old. Time is flying by. She is now beginning to smile more and make some funny faces. She is awake more during the day and Lindsey gets to see all of her new faces. 

 

 

Bottle!

I gave Vivian her first bottle this weekend, and she ate it up like she has been doing it the whole time. She glanced over to look at me a couple of times and thought, 'how are you doing this Daddy?' She is growing up too fast! Mimsie (BJ) also came to visit and was able to give her a bottle as well. I think she liked that, but I don't have a photo of that one.

Being at work I don't get to see Vivian as often as I would like so I receive photos like these from Lindsey throughout the day. It sure makes me happy to see her little cute face while I am working.

 

We got another short visit from Davis, Lissa, and Liam since they were in the neighborhood to pick up Lissa's grandma from the airport. Liam wore his Braves outfit and looked pretty cool (although the Braves lost for the first time in 15 games that same day).

Liam was trying to grab Vivian, he wanted to play with her really bad. Alex was also there to meet Vivian (he is in the background behind Lissa).

Vivian is 1 month old

This past month has gone by so fast. It seems like the only think that I remember in July was Vivian being born. Now all of a sudden it is August and she is 1 month old. We did a little photo shoot for her one month photo. We plan to do this every month to see her change as she grows. She is starting to make cool faces and smile some. She is getting so animated. 

We went to the doctor for her one month check-up. She is now 8 lbs. 3 oz., that is 1.5 lbs gained in 2 weeks! She is growing fast. Also 1" longer than when she was born. That explains how she can fit somewhat into her new outfits. She likes to style out on the changing pad, although she still likes to be only in her diaper if she isn't cold. One mile stone has been achieved already, Vivian decided last night she could roll over from her stomach to her back. That isn't supposed to happen until around month 4 or 5. I thought it might just be luck, but then she did it again this morning at the doctor. She is really advanced!

On Friday Mary, Craig, and Joey stopped by for a dinner visit. They were on their way back to WV after spending the week in Wilmington with my mom and Moocham. We got to see Joey and she was so cute and wild! She tried her hardest to dodge the camera, but I got a couple.

I got a rare photo of Mary with her eyes open! Vivian was happy to meet cousin Mary. 

Craig really seemed to like Vivian, although the photo below shows her sort of unhappy, she was really happy the whole time they visited. She even let us sit at the table to eat our dinner.
